Free browser image tool
Convert JPG to PNG.
Convert JPG to PNG locally in your browser. PNG encoding is lossless, but a tight file-size limit may reduce pixel dimensions. Keep your original image.
Open TargetKB →How it works
- Choose PNG as the output format.
- Set a file-size limit and optionally resize the image. Tight limits may reduce dimensions further.
- Upload your JPG, then download and check the converted PNG. Keep your original.
Check file-size units, output quality and format limitations before preparing an upload.
Private by design
TargetKB processes files locally in your browser whenever possible. No account is required for basic image conversion, cropping, and compression.
Frequently asked questions
Can I process more than one image?
Yes. You can process up to 10 images in one batch.
Will the result be smaller?
JPG and WebP can be compressed to a file-size limit. PNG encoding is lossless, but meeting a small limit may reduce pixel dimensions. A converted PNG may be larger than the original, and this tool does not preserve transparency. Keep your original and check the downloaded image before uploading.
Why can a PNG file be larger than a JPG?
PNG uses lossless encoding, which can produce a larger file than a JPG photo. Converting to PNG does not recover detail already lost in the JPG. To meet the selected file-size limit, TargetKB may reduce pixel dimensions. The current tool does not preserve transparency.
